What is DPD (Days Past Due) in a CIBIL Report and How Lenders View It
Dwarikadhish Research Desk•Published: 2026-07-20•5 min read
In a TransUnion CIBIL report, DPD stands for **Days Past Due**. It indicates how many days payment on a specific loan EMI or credit card bill was delayed beyond the official due date in any given month.
Common DPD Values Explained: - **000 or OK:** Payment was made on time or within the grace period. This is the ideal status for all 36 months. - **030 / 060 / 090:** Payment was delayed by 30, 60, or 90 days respectively. Entries above 30 days trigger risk flags during lender underwriting. - **STD (Standard):** Payment delayed by less than 90 days. - **SUB (Sub-Standard):** Account classified as Non-Performing Asset (NPA) after 90 days of continuous non-payment. - **DBT (Doubtful) / LSS (Loss):** Severe default status.
How Partner Banks Evaluate DPD History: Most bank underwriters require clean DPD (000) for the preceding 12 to 24 months, especially for un-collateralized personal and business loans.
